New Sin Refinery Station at Al-Sin

This project has been noticed in the establishment plan for 2003 in care to secure the potable water necessary in quality and quantity for the population increase in the governorate in the city and the suburb, knowing that the basic study for the Third and Fourth Draw Lines was completed for the supply of the governorate with Al-Sin water without refinery station, considering that the water resource is Al-Sin Source directly and that the specifications of its water can be pumped directly without refining. But to guarantee the arrival of water in purely and permanently and within the most accurate healthy and standard specifications, and in view of the change of water turbidity of Al-Sin Source according to the seasons of the year and specifically at winter with the abundant maximal flows of the source, the establishment has taken care in the study and commenced to execute the new refinery station for the new both draw line which were put in exploitation since that date.

The station is aimed to pass the abundance of 2000 liters/ per second of water through strata of sand and intracit coal with thickness of 60 cm sand and 40 cm coal.

The total cost for erecting this station has reached about 200 Million Syrian Pounds including the Contract of Construction Works, and the Sand and Intracit Coal Import Contract and the Contract for the Electrical & Mechanical Equipment, and the contract of the permanent inlet from the lake to the station. All the works of the contracts are finished and ready to be put in exploitation except the works of permanent inlet , and which is under completion where the main draw lines are installed with a diameter of 1200 mm, and the execution of the subsidiary connections and their accessories are now in execution between the main lines and inlets of filtration basins of the station and which are expected to finish them in the second quarter of 2006.

The Fourth Draw Line Project
  1. The project is a completion of the Fourth Draw Line from Jableh cross-section to Besnada Tank in Latakia, where in the basic of the study of the Third Draw Project , the study of executing a line with 1400 mm diameter to the city of Latakia was carried out in 1992, and due to the obstacle in the process of contracting in securing the font pipes necessary for the project in the said diameter and due to the very high prices submitted by the limited companies producing the pipes of large diameters. Therefore , the search for available substitutes was made, and the substitute the execution of two lines with 1000 mm where the execution of direct line of 1000 mm was carried out from Karfis Tank to Besnada Tank and another line with a diameter of 1000 mm from Karfis Tank to Jableh city cross-section and this line was called the Fourth Draw Line.

  2. The purpose of completing the line is to secure and cover the deficiency expected in consumption of the city of Latakia in addition to securing the necessary water for the new projects which will be put in exploitation in period to come.

  3. The length of the line is about 26000/m.t. of elastic font which is imported and the pipes of which were distributed on the execution path line to commence in digging and installing after the ratification of mutual agreement contract with the General Company of Water Projects, and the order of commencement was given on 8-01-2006 for a period of execution of 200 Two Hundred days.

  4. The Total Value of the Project has reached about 500 Five Hundred Million Syrian Pounds including the value of the Import Contract of the Pipes and the value of Digging and Installing Contract.

  5. Recently the execution of equilibrium tank is in execution in Karfis with the capacity of 3000 m3 to secure the feeding for this line, and also the preparation of the technical study is also carried to secure new supporting pumps for the project and to secure the required redundancy of water and sufficient to the current and futuristic needs of the city and the villages of the coastal line.

ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL STATIONS REPLACEMENT PROJECT
FOR AL SEFSAF AXIS

The purpose of the project is to replace the old equipment for the three axis stations and secure new developed equipment with greater abundance and to increase the productive capacity to cover the increasing need of the axis villages beneficiary from the project with a total cost of about 24 Million Syrian Pounds. The project includes securing six sets of horizontal pumping with abundance of each 200 m3 /per hour and lift of 140 m for Al-Sin station and sic sets of horizontal pumping with the abundance of each 200/m3 and lift of 140 m for the Kasmin Station, and two horizontal pumping set with 70 m3/h abundance per each and lift 100 m for Al-Kalouf Station with all necessary and sufficient accessories and electric panels. This will be put in exploitation in 2006
